Toners are hydrating. They keep skin healthy, smooth and reduce redness. Toner will also act as a carrier for your serums and moisturizers helping them penetrate the surface of the skin to increase effectiveness.
Question #2 Is this bump on my face extractable?
Answer: Maybe. Bumps on the skin can appear for a variety of reasons. We extract blackheads and pustules to clear the pore of sebum and speed up the healing process. During a skin treatment, these extractions can be performed easily with minimal discomfort without leaving a mark on your skin. Red, inflamed bumps on the skin aren’t always extractable. Question #6 How long should my hair be for waxing?
Answer: Hair length need to be at least one-quarter inch for effective wax removal. This equates to 10-to-14 days-worth of growth. We all hate the grow-out phase but love the freedom of being hair-free. After your initial wax, you will have about one-third of your hair grow in at a time. Because of your hair growth cycles, waxing every month will keep your body hair at a minimum and reduce the pain.
Question #7 Why do I get ingrown hairs?
Answer: After hair removal, the hair follicle begins to form a new hair (unfortunate, I know). The hair grows up through the follicle and pierces through the narrow opening at the surface of the skin. An ingrown hair occurs when growth is blocked. Sebum (oil), and cellular debris can clog the follicle causing the hair to grow under the skin. Friction from clothing can also be a factor, creating a physical barrier for optimal growth.
Question #8 What is retinol and why should I use it?
Answer: Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A. When used on the skin it increases cellular turnover time. The use of retinol encourages new skin cells to the surface of the skin, leaving the skin with less acne, clearer pores and fewer wrinkles. You should use it at night after you cleanse and prior to moisturizing to refine the skin’s surface.
Question #9 Can I shrink my pores?
Answer: Your pore size is predetermined by your genetics but there are things you can do to make your pores look as small as possible. Using retinol at night reduces the appearance of the pore by decreasing the oil produced in the follicle. Monthly facials that include pore extractions and an exfoliating peel can also help by keeping the pores clear of congestion.
